There’s no duller category of #mastodon post than “Twitter is bad and so are the people posting there.”
So this looks very fun to play, I'm very impressed by it all things considered! https://trustandsafety.fun
Here's @mmasnick with some details into the creation of this trust and safety-themed challenge of a game. https://www.techdirt.com/2023/10/17/trust-safety-tycoon-try-your-hand-at-managing-a-social-media-trust-safety-team/
We are conducting a study where we need to keep audio recordings of participant evaluations. Can anyone suggest how the voices in this recordings could be distorted so they could be anonymised. I thought it is an easy problem, but similar questions on several platforms remain unanswered? #privacy #anonymity @security
@jhavok @ProPublica this might be the last step before the resignation of... the whole chain of command in the prosecution. After Gartner's resignation there are still prosecutors that need to work with this police force. But yes, who knows which one would be better of the community at the end...
@MickG59 @ProPublica good luck with the current supreme court
@ohmu @ProPublica in this particular case it was not police that stopped the special prosecution bill from getting voted. There is a solution, it just gets blocked by politicians that do what they were elected for.
A Detective Sabotaged His Own Cases Because He Didn’t Like the Prosecutor. The #Police Department Did Nothing to Stop Him.

Across the country, police have undermined and resisted reform. To protest a prosecutor, one detective was willing to let #murder suspects walk free, even if he’d arrested them and believed that they should be behind bars.

@grdx@mastodon.online @noelreports actually "we'll kill ourselves, taking more of you down with us, before you could even respond by doing anything to us", isn't it?
Anyway, terrorism has been around for thousands of years. The 20th century has brought us many examples of successes and failures of bringing it to an end. I don't think any of the successes involved outdoing them with even more violence. But it is true that I'm way too ignorant.
Nice quote on LLM "AI" for coding:

@noelreports the regret of a suicide bomber: all felt lost even before. By August this year more than 200 Palestinians were already killed. No war, no incursions back then. Just plain old business as usual for the so-called IDF. https://news.un.org/en/story/2023/08/1139922

@chowderman @SeekingDuck @noelreports keep a lid on? Are you still talking of people?... that are being denied basic human rights. Not attributing collective responsibility to people that haven't even supported Hamas would be some start
@daveroberts0053 @noelreports expelling your personal self on the same terms would set a positive example. Possibly it would help you realise that what you're saying does not make any sense whatsoever
