@glyph @taylorlorenz one click distance to reading the original content. Not only unnecessary, but easy to skip when undecided if what to read. This is not the intention when willing to quote post. This particular problem is solved with the screenshot

As any community, the Fediverse is full of myths that exist for the single reason that vocal people have an agenda, and others can't be bothered to fact-check. One such myth here is "quote tweets are toxic". Debunked! Thank you @QOTO for being better than so many others

@seamsay well, I don't think one "introduces" new logic with mocks, etc. I'd rather think one "externalises" relevant parts of the existing implicit logic (sometimes inaccurately, so needs refinement). This is why I wrote of intention

@seamsay looks a bit superficial to me. I don't see the paradigm as decisive as test coverage, which I see as documentation of the intention behind the code. And OOP encapsulation (combined with mocks, monkey patching, etc) allows for relatively easy unit testing.
