“Literature can train, and exercise, our ability to weep for those who are not us or ours.”
Some beautiful and timely thoughts on the power of storytelling from Susan Sontag, who would have been 91 today https://t.co/qIBlIKAKpW
In Germany they are at least talking of how bureaucracy is problematic. In Italy we just live with it, and people are used to taking it for granted. Here bureaucracy is seen as a solution to unemployment. Nobody cares it doesn't really work this way.
This is a copy from a call on ex-twitter that I consider worthy of support:
Human rights work in Israel-Palestine has never been more precarious. This #GivingTuesday, we’re asking for your help. Can you contribute to our crowdfunding campaign? https://fundrazr.com/givetoextend
Reasons to give to Extend:
Reason 1: Extend was one of the first American Jewish groups to call for a ceasefire. We continue to lobby elected officials and Jewish communal leaders to call for a permanent ceasefire that saves Palestinian and Israeli lives.
Reason 2: We’ve been building American Jewish movement for human rights in Is-Pal for 10 years. Our 1000+ alumni –rabbis, electeds, journalists, students– are leading discussions on campus, in synagogues, and in the media that hold grief for both Israelis and Palestinians. Extend alumni have also joined protests for a ceasefire, humanitarian aid into Gaza, and the release of all hostages.
With your help this #GivingTuesday we will continue raising our voices for freedom and human rights for both Palestinians and Israelis. Please give today.

Considering the growing evidence, how likely a hypothesis is that Netanyahu's extremist establishment and Hamas were colluding against the peoples of Israel and Palestine? The IDF refuses to respond... because it has been documented that its current leadership is part of the extremist establishment and is directly responsible for what appears even more to be intentionally ignoring incoming intelligence

LLMs are getting better and better! Oh, wait...
It's not everyday a Big Tech company explicitly shows their users how it shares their personal data across service for targeted advertising. Even less often that it gives them the option to opt-out.
So why is this happening? 🤔

We're Looking for fiscal sponsorship for Black Python Devs.
If you know a non-profit that would love to host funding for the fastest growing community of Black, Colored, and Coloured Pythonistas on the planet.
TLDR: We’d like to collect matchable funding and would like to not make our own Non-Profit.
@ThePSF and @opencollective's community sponsorships are currently paused.
Other orgs all seem to be too narrow or too broad in scope to support a GLOBAL community of PYTHON developers

“They simply cannot tolerate, and they wouldn’t like to accept that I, and everyone else, can show sympathy and empathy for the innocent people in Gaza. At the same time that one shows sympathy and care for the people of Israel. It’s not a contradiction.”

South Africa honored the Palestinian plight, and the world was forced to listen
Like many Palestinians, I have lost faith in the international community. But I was emotional watching South Africa lay bare Israel’s crimes at the ICJ. For the first time, our pain was taken seriously, and our call for justice was honored.

Its a "this means that" overthinking error.
A comparable' 'moral' question is selling body parts. Turning humans into parts to sell to rich people is more than horror, but donating your eyes to a blind person on your passing is a gift as close to holy as we get.
Its the same with making love or being raped. Consent is the beginning. Ability to consent the test.
Did you know you can add your @ORCID_Org iD as a login method to accessing Humanities Commons? 🤯 This is a great way to consolidate your logins, and you can also add other methods as well.
Keep in mind that your ORCID iD won't be automatically assigned to your Commons account, and you'll need to follow the steps in this guide: https://support.hcommons.org/getting-started/adding-a-new-log-in-method/
