This is a modern game night (Scythe is being played), but somebody asked me to play Risk and then somebody else asked me to play Monopoly. I suspect it's some kind of bet or dare. #BoardGames
I'm teaching four college students to play the Fast & Furious: Highway Heist board game and none of them have seen any of the movies.
I try to review my journals at the end of each month and year, but it's been a rough semester.
I'm using a version of #ungrading where students meet with me to tell me what grade they deserve and why. I reserve the right to override this, but usually don't have to.
Many of them are quite nervous about this. It strikes me that this is good practice for asking for promotions and raises.

@vwbusguy Once in the house I lived in in college water started pouring out of one of the light fixtures. (Someone upstairs had let the tub overflow.)
1. No more lessons to plan this semester.
2. Made my first attempt to juggle torches. Mostly dropped them and caught the wrong end at least once, but fortunately I spent the last few years building up an immunity to fire.
3. Taught the new kids the safe way to breathe fire.

The heroes in teams aren't the ones pulling all-nighters, gambling big and saving everyone at the last minute.
They're the ones who put in the work every day to stop those situations arising in the first place.
@thezerobit Fair. I don't think that's *exactly* the stance being taken (plenty of people have been banned from qoto for bad behavior), but no need to split those hairs at this point.
I'm not ready to jump ship just yet, but I'll also not tying myself to the mast. Let's see how this plays out.

I'm frustrated because I've had conversations with our admin and I don't think he's some kind of crypto-Nazi. The qoto timeline, which anyone can see, is in no way full of hateful garbage. (There is some awful stuff in the qoto *federated* feed.)
At the same time, there are all these rumors about qoto that nobody seems to be able to back up.
People on both sides seem reasonable and kind; I don't understand why they're fighting.
