@ravisambamurthy @mastodonindians There's a fascinating image processing algorithm for solving this "pesky tourist problem": take a series of pictures (from a tripod-mounted camera for consistency) and take the modal (most common) value of each pixel.
(In this case, you probably don't want to remove the "tourist".)

This ultra-small generator is highly portable and works even with shallow, slow moving water. Already tested with powering street lights, it promises to allow people in the world’s remote regions to generate their own electricity

@ginnyhogan Computer science is the only discipline that still thinks binaries are a good idea.

What's the story here? A strange way to get high? Making explosives? Keeping open the option to reattach anything that was shaved off?
Dragons are real. And they live in the ocean.
Blue Glaucus or “the blue dragon” is a brightly colored nudibranch. They incorporate toxic chemicals & stinging cells from prey into their skin as a defense against predation.
And in my humble opinion, it’s more spectacular than anything ever imagined in Westeros. #science #nature
@ZachWeinersmith You know about the FIRST robotics league, right? https://www.firstinspires.org/about/vision-and-mission

@ZachWeinersmith I'm not so much worried about the privacy side*, but all this data mining is using up all of our cycles and bandwidth, then blasting us with a constant firehose of ads.
*I recognize that, if I were a part of a marginalized group, I would be MUCH more worried about privacy.
@savanni FWIW, @montecook is on Mastodon.
@ivanski "Does that ceiling fan look loose to you?"
"I suddenly regret ignoring the signs saying not to sit here."
"If you two die, can I have your votes?"
The first thing to understand is that in the USA, 60% of all Black men in college will drop out.😢
The primary reason for dropping out is not grades. It is financial hardship. This is true for students of all races. Not all poor students are Black, but in the US, most Black college students are poor.
You can ask a US college student 2 questions:
1) Are you rich?
2) Is your family rich?
If the answers are "No" and "No," there is a very good chance that this student will not graduate college.
A nice talk on automating game testing from the 2019 Game Developers Conference.

@gidorah I was Wendy. The waitress, the librarian, and I were all defeated, in part due to friendly fire. It was a close thing; the final boss only had one health point left.
@htdrake will pass on this one, but I'm going to seize the #BoardGamesAToZ opportunity to play the Arkham Horror card game. #BoardGames #AkhamHorror
@undefined @goeland86 Yes -- in some sense the difference between an A and a B is the difference between grokking and merely successfully completing the tasks.
I have some other thoughts on what the final letter grades mean here:

An image search shows that there are (at least) two completely different Model-View-Controller patterns out there.
In one, the model is an intermediary between the view (which displays things) and the controller (which receives user input).
In another, the controller is an intermediary between the view (which interacts with the user) and the model (which stores data).
