If they're going to make people ride bikes and scooters in traffic, then it should at LEAST be legal to do the Snow Crash thing where you use a hook-shot-style harpoon to catch free rides from cars.

I didn’t know I needed to watch a cute, chubby field hamster running through a field in slow motion, but here we are.

Wildlife photographer Julian Rad has a nice collection of photos/videos of furry little friends in nature. They’re super cute.

I hope the empty F-35 just keeps going. Flying from town to town, solving murders and helping the downtrodden. Always one step ahead of the government goons hunting it.

Rock on, leaf. Rock on.

TFW the solution to your problem is much simpler than you initially thought

@ian OK, I’ll chime in:

Most writing systems either evolve over generations, or are created by expert linguists.

But Cherokee’s was invented by one person, Sequoyah, who not only was not a linguist, but never went to school and never learned to read or write.

He saw English-language books, and despite not speaking English, understood the general principle, and thought, “I can do that for my language!”

He spent 12 years developing his writing system, and it is still the standard today.

cool hat. where'd you get it? #Wednesday #cat

I'm rather excited about this. There has been a push to get #Oregon to adopt #RankedChoiceVoting for some time now. Some cities have adopted it already, but now a bill is on the Nov 2024 ballot to hopefully make it statewide for future sate and federal races.

@Celeste_pewter Speaking of which, via @mattbc (on twitter):
"This is important: please order covid rapid tests from http://COVIDtests.gov, we must show continued, high demand for covid tests.

This is not a situation in which "oh, I don't really need free tests, I can afford to buy them" helps anyone at all."

All, please be aware.

The Biden Administration is offering free COVID tests beginning September 25th.

They'll be restarting the website at COVIDTests.gov. Please bookmark/mark it on your calendar.
