@lauren I was surprised that he'd describe himself that way, but since the Concorde launched in 1969, this would have been before he did "UFO" and "Space:1999", neither of which were intended to be kids' shows.

@DavidDmshepherd @GeorgeCzernuszka yeah but you have blue passports but in Croatia we have ... Oh... wait...

😂

@AbbyCWL (Oh hey I'm going to hang on to that and use it as a hilariously pretentious word for boycotting)

@julienhoez "Look at all the things I have and I still feel threatened by a neurodivergent teenage girl."

@Lorry I always enjoyed that about historical films: D'Artagnan or whoever in a shirtless scene with a smallpox vax scar on his upper arm. Like wristwatches in Spartacus

@Lorry But it has a shoegazer emo lead! Does your Bacon-classic have that? Hmm? Hmmmmmm?

One pretty incredible part they don't call attention to is that this ultra-sensitive military spec device not only doesn't use encrypted storage, it doesn't appear even to have ordinary password protection.

lf you buy a used router for $10 on ebay that hasn't been reset, you sensitive data like wifi passwords will be stored in the clear on it, but still need the administrator login and password which at least use ordinary Linux security. You won't be able to steal data off it without accessing the soldered-on memory or -- sometimes -- hacking a serial connection to the mainboard. But thing just lets him power it on and go.

@lauren Blast your Vulcan logic!

(I always like how "Vulcan" sounds like something else the way he uses it as an adjective)

@lauren He's having you on anyway.

Kirk: Our odds of success don't seem very favorable...
Spock: Seventeen point four two six percent, to be precise.
McCoy: You just say shit like that because you know nobody's going to check you on it, right?

@lauren It's always funny when he uses a precision far shorter than the time it takes him to speak the sentence. If I'm Kirk the ship probably gets destroyed while I'm trying to get him to clarify whether it's measured from the time he made the calculation, began the sentence, finished the sentence or somewhere in between.

@sikpuppy@theblower.au @AbbyCWL If you're there to return a product does that mean you're uncustomering and they can arrest you the moment you surrender the product and get your money back?

@LauGoesToLondon How horrible it must feel not to make strangers dead. Imagine trying to live with that.

@Sundae_Gurl I don't know how much that would move the Overton Window of the sayable-in-Arkansas in real terms.
