@moira FBI caught the Governor dumpster diving with his son. They were taking trash bags filled with cash from the dumpster. His defense was that they enjoyed dumpster diving and got lucky. He went to prison for bribery.

So, these laws are working as intended. The legislators passing these laws do not want every person to have a vote and find violence against majority populations desirable. That seems kind of obvious lately.

I give EU regulators a hard time for being too conservative in tech regulation but I’ll always give them credit for at least understanding the problem space.
The real AI risk is discriminatory algorithms not Skynet becoming self aware and dropping nukes.
