@SusanKraemer Excellent idea. I have a number of places I'd like to put a Mastodon share button.

But if I'm not mistaken, this isn't so easy to do on a browser. Mastodon isn't monolithic with a single domain / URL where the button can send people. The person who clicks has to somehow specify their instance. I think. Unless I'm missing something here.

@cenobyte @mastodonmigration As far as I know, yes. The vast majority of my posts are "tweet sized". But a reasoned complete answer to a political or technical question can easily blow past 500 chars.

I moved off the instance I was on for years mainly because of the 500 char limit plus other reasons. I switched to an instance with a 65k limit, well beyond anything I'd post here, but it's nice to have.

Wow! I dont really ride bikes, anymore, motorized or not, but i have always been in love with the little Honda 50 that had pedals so when you ran out of gas you could pedal to the station. some of those look about that era!
