@ClaraListensprechen@universeodon.com They are a bit harsh at times. Broiling or grilling them adds new flavors that help. If you absolutely must boil them, nutmeg helps. A strongly flavored cheese sauce also works.

@karlauerbach Hmm, yeah that's pretty serious. I hadn't considered that. And I guess some people do find Brussels sprouts offensive.

Why would someone put a photo of Brussels sprouts behind a content warning?

@WayneSmith@toot.community Looks like somewhere in the U.S.A. but there aren't enough bullet holes in the sign.

“In America, a country that can often be cruel to its citizens, the public library is a surprising kindness. It is institution that offers grace and sanctuary, and a vision of what our country might one day be.”

@gothamgirlblue Yes, bullshit. Studies interviewing wealthy people show the most important factor in their success was luck. This should be intuitively obvious. For a Bezos or a Musk to occur multiple factors have to come together at the same time and that means luck. Studies also show that wealthy people have the same average intelligence as everyone else.

If you think you are worthless or you don't bring anything to this world ... remember that on Linked-in, there are proud "crypto investment advisors", "NFT CEOs" and "blockchain consultants".

New from @propublica @BrettMmurphy: Part 2 of an astonishing investigation into a new junk police science, 911 call analysis. We unearthed shocking emails in which prosecutors say they know they can’t get this method into court with a hearing to assess its legitimacy, so they devised a playbook to sneak it in. #journalism #news #crime #courts #science propublica.org/article/911-cal

Bolsonaro has fled Brazil for the safety of the United States. Anyone else sick and tired of our government protecting fascists? #Brazil #LulaPresidente bbc.com/news/world-latin-ameri

@mechtild55 True. Some, not all of those Secret Service guys can do things that would absolutely astound you in terms of noticing people around them and minute details that you'd never notice even if you replayed the scene over and over. If you're carrying a gun, they know. No matter how well it's concealed or where, they know.

Tony Ornato doesn't recall whether Trump tried to grab the steering wheel. He doesn't recall Trump trying to grab the driver by the throat.

Please. These Secret Service FBI CIA intelligence folks are trained to notice ~everything~. You wearing different colored socks they'd notice.

@morgfair Yes, this would be my dream scenario I've talked about for months. Trump has the power to destroy the GOP's chances of winning anything, which I figured he'd use as a bargaining tool.

They have to give him what he wants or face oblivion in the next election.

Germany has ended its dependence on Russian energy. Since August 11th, no coal has been imported. Natural gas imports have been reduced from 55% at the beginning of 2022 to zero. Oil imports dropped from 40% to under 20%, and will be phased out by the end of this year.

For decades, the media was obsessed with "but both sides" reporting, in which they would present the consensus of experts as "one side of the story," then dig up some random kook and present their opinion as being equally valid.

Over time, the media trained the public to disregard expert opinion and to consider all opinions as being equally valid.

Reports: During presidency, Trump held a bank account in China. In one year of presidency, it is reported that he paid vastly more in foreign taxes than U.S. taxes.
