@jentrification The broad vortex that results from a RICO charge is just starting to swirl.

Mountain Black-eye

Black eye patch and slender red bill are unique. Forages at all levels, often in pairs or small flocks. FREEDOM OF THE PRESS!

Seven police and sheriff's officers in Kansas on Friday raided the Marion County Record newspaper and its publisher’s house, raising concerns over freedom of the press in the United States.

By confiscating all seven of its computers, the paper was struggling to find a way to publish its next issue!

Uh, oh.

I always thought it suspicious that fracking companies refuse to reveal the chemicals they use in fracking fluid. It's a closely guarded secret. Why?

A Pennsylvania study suggests links between fracking and asthma, lymphoma in children.

@carnage4life Hah! Thanks for my genuine LOL of the day. The neighbors heard that one.

The average US president has been charged with 2 felonies.

New instance, new #introduction!

I'm a father, a cat-person, an artist, a writer, and a software engineer. Sometimes I play a little music for my own entertainment.

But, my biggest hobby, by far, is reading epic fantasy novels. Here's my top 5:

1. "The Wars of Light and Shadow" by Janny Wurtz
2. "The Elderling Saga" by Robin Hobb
3. "Black Company" by Glen Cook
4. "The Lord of the Rings" by JRR Tolkien
5. "Lyonesse" by Jack Vance

I have some other interests too... here's a cloud of hashtags for those...

@timberwraith Yep. The misogyny was strong in the 1960s until feminism started to take hold towards the very end of the 60s.

The sexualization of women in movies and ads continued though because sex sells. Societal change takes generations to bring about.

@TruthSandwich @asbestos @fulelo Yeah, a hoax. I don't know how I was able to make three consecutive Covid crossflow tests come out positive. I even took pictures. It's a mystery.

@fulelo I was wondering how this would play out. Pled guilty eh?

I'm not surprised. If he has a drop of FBI blood in him, then he must take the path that will bring the least dishonor on The Bureau. And so he did.

During a pandemic, a ton of Atlantans showed up in an election and runoff to kick out a corrupt DA with a 23 year tenure, and replaced him with DA Willis. We should all be proud of that today. Local elections matter!

@jrtodd Grift too, but architected by Calvinist religinuts who think they can control behavior to suit their personal liking by passing laws.

Funny thing is the Bible doesn't prohibit drinking at all. What it does do is advise against becoming so drunk that you lose your judgment and commit a sin.

@timberwraith Bear in mind that M*A*S*H is set in the early 1950s when misogyny was the norm and directly in one's face everywhere. It was especially visible in TV, magazine, and billboard ads.

Note that I'm not defending misogyny, I'm defending historical accuracy. It was what it was and I lived in it.

The PragerU goal: "Indoctrinate kids at a young age into a far-right belief system"

What Ron DeSantis wants to teach kids: Racism and inequality don't matter, and politics can't solve injustice
