@RepAdamSchiff TODAY
"We've introduced a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United and the irresponsible SCOTUS decisions that came before it.
Unrestricted dark money has no place in our elections or democracy. We need to return power to people. Once and for all."
!! Good. About time.
Now let's see them get it done.

SHOCKING: Ron #DeSantis has BANNED the teaching of AP African American Studies in Florida.
Florida has gone from Don’t Say Gay to Don’t Say Black.
@grey_ghost Fun job. Not. ;-)
@realTuckFrumper More empty threats. If there was anything behind them, he would simply do and not threaten.
In real life you don't telegraph what you're going to do or even that you're going to do something.
Sen. Kevin Blackwell, R-Southaven, wants to revive a bill to extend postpartum Medicaid benefits. He has the support of the Senate, but would need the assent of Speaker Philip Gunn, R-Clinton.
Infamous MAGA rioter flops at trial when asked basic questions about the Bill of Rights https://www.rawstory.com/richard-bigo-barnett/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon
Singer-songwriter-guitarist David Crosby has died at the age of 81. https://variety.com/2023/music/news/david-crosby-dead-dies-byrds-crosby-stills-nash-1235495467/
@tofugolem They are employees. The source of the craziness is about a dozen loosely organized individuals that are never in the news who have been doing this for years. It's the same people who cooked up pizzagate.
@dgar Chocolate is a vegetable, just like heroin is. Lol.
Sure glad we've granted supralegislative power to a body that can't even competently investigate itself.

The Supreme Court just announced it was "unable to identify a person responsible by a preponderance of the evidence" for leaking the draft Dobbs opinion that overturned Roe v. Wade.

@EarlDGray Exactly. This is a non-story or would be if it weren't for Republicans stirring a tempest in a teapot and Santos himself being an ultra-hypocrite. He says he will always unwaveringly support LGBTQ rights forever and in the same breath say he supports "don't say gay" in Florida.
I mean, you'd expect this level of broken thinking from someone in a mental ward, not an elected official.
@shantini Cash flow direction. Also, if they feel they can lay off 10,000, then they didn't really need that many employees.
Demand is down, sales is down, they're no longer needed.
Things boomed for companies like Microsoft during the peak of Covid and lockdowns. That's over now and they have inflation to deal with too.
It's not about the $10 billion. It's about not needing that many people and cutting staff by ten percent.
@cra1g Still number one, easy. The long history, buildings from various periods starting with the Romans and each period after, museums, the university. The scenery is breathtaking (for me) with the Mosel below you and vinyards stretching from arms reach, down to the river, and as far as you can see.
I emphasized the wine festival because it's classic German culture brought to life. You don't have to drink, of course. But maybe you'll like it. The new wine is something you've never tasted before and dates back 2,000 years as well. Romans never drank water anywhere. Watered wine or watered vinegar to avoid disease.
But you could skip the whole festival and Trier would still be my #1. If I only had three days in Germany and could only pick one place, that would be it.
Now that I've had more time to think, my #2 would be Hamburg.
