@schwa Hmm. Being a top one percent programmer has nothing to do with mathematics.
@oliphant I don't miss quote-posting at all here on Mastodon.
Personally, I'd prefer they leave it alone. I'm concerned that quote-posting will greatly increase the amount of "noise" in my feed.
But, come what may. The decision is out of my hands.
@EugestShirley @futurebird Yup. A caricature of the classic corrupt sheriff, and proud of it.
All these takes seem to misdiagnose the mainstream media outlets as
"getting played"
when its plain as day they are actually captured megaphones for the same wealthy interests running these campaigns-- Ackman, Thiel, Koch, etc.
Can we grow the fuck up and stop giving mainstream media a fucking pass?
Theyre not the duped innocent.
@Gustodon Critical thinking is absent in that demographic.
@linuxgal You'll have that when your stuff is assembled where they don't speak English.
@futurebird We've prosecuted hundreds of the Jan 6 underlings. Next we must go after the instigators and government enablers.
Too many? Arizona's Sheriff Arpaio had a solution for that.

PUTIN POWER PLAY!
First, Putin put Comrade Trump in his back pocket
He then put Republican Speaker of the House Mike Johnson in his other pocket.
US aid to Ukraine blocked due to Johnson and the Russian Republicans, Putin is now onto step 3 - depleting Ukraine's air defenses to leave Ukraine ripe for takeover.
Kyiv Issues Dire Warning After 'Record' US Patriot defense.
Ukraine is running low on vital supplies for its air defense systems, Kyiv's military warned.

@fingolas Unknown? smh
@Free_Press Amusing to see "dictator" and "president" in the same sentence there.
@N1ZZZ @FinchHaven @ai6yr The ships I referred to were all steamships. (I'm a recent import.)
Your point is well taken. I hadn't considered that. The cost of having all those ships "hot" and crewed is probably a slam dunk argument.
@N1ZZZ @FinchHaven @ai6yr Hmm. Interesting. Those all look bigger than the ships my forebears came from Europe on. Haha.
@FinchHaven @N1ZZZ @ai6yr Yeah. as a boat person, this one's been in my collection for years.
I remember my first thought when I saw it was, "Seriously? Those boats can get where they're going on their own. They make so many they need to build a super barge to ship them? That's ridiculous."
I suspect it has to do with their manufacturing method. The hulls are built in one place and internals installed elsewhere. Although this is a bit weird because big ships are built the other way around. You lay the keel and engine, and the ship is built around the engine.
I'm still curious why this is necessary.
