My dad made me feel like I'm a ridiculous person, unworthy of love and attention. He yelled at me for having 9/10 instead of 10/10, or for dancing to the spice girls, every single time.

When I am reminded of him, there is only one feeling that prevails: not good enough. Mostly not smart enough, also not successful enough.

It's a slow, uphill battle, of learning to not feel defective and ashamed every day.

@neil I just vacuum sealed my wife’s plush iguana because I thought it would be funny. My tip for this is that it works better if you use a vacuum cleaner to remove the air, instead of the hand pump that Amazon supply with the bags. Also I’m trans. Is that the sort of thing you’re referring to?

So the temperature got down to -6C at the #allotment and -4C in the shed. Everything is looking a bit sorry for itself and the wind is BITTER.

Although the weather is perfect for #wintercycling, I am grounded and forced to get around with a different kind of vehicle. Until my leg unbrakes itself ;-) Should take no more than six weeks, but after a week without the daily routine of cycling, I feel older, grumpier, and more unhealthy than ever. Yes, but the Ridge Bike Daily branded hoodie I got for my birthday made my day and I can't wait to put it on for our next cargo bike adventure.
