Me: Google search used to be the best, now it’s frustrating more often than not. I don't see how it could be worse.
Google: Hold my beer, a beverage made by brewing malted grains, straining off the liquids and then storing them in oak casks for multiple years.

Zoom is now mandating you use their service w/o an opt-out clause to Forced Arbitration. They also state in their Terms of Service (TOS): You and Zoom will arbitrate certain claims instead of going to court and that you will not bring class-action claims against Zoom.
I want people to realize as more and more corporations use #ForcedArbitration, we are losing an important component of democracy.

“I cannot read the soothing letters,” said Frodo in a quavering voice.
“No,” said Bombadil. “But I can. The letters are Elvish, of an ancient mode…”

@szescstopni Likewise, this dog really liked being under the dirt screening table at an archeology dig in TX.

Well it had to happen eventually. #Scripps is retiring FLIP (FLoating Instrument Platform). This is an amazing piece of engineering (and soooo weird on the inside - everything pivots, so walls become floors). The #ship to be towed out to a location, and it would literally flip, sinking most of the ship directly down to give a *very stable platform for #oceanography research. Launched in 1962.

NSFW semi nude

Ok, you responded to my shameless call for boosts so here’s a happy semi nude picture I took this morning after catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror feeling comfy and at peace.

My favorite pun at #ALAN2023 so far, by Matthew Hatfield from the University of Southampton.

"Very fishy" was also good.

Where I grew up in rural Indiana, we didn't get all the decades. We got the 50s and the 80s. We only found out about the other decades when we finally got cable TV in the late 1990s/early 2000s.

To jest dla nas zdecydowanie jeden z najlepszych sposobów na spędzanie wolnego czasu 🤗☀️🦮 #psowerem #rower #cycling #rowercargo

This is the last day of my Twitter account. I have over 52K followers there, but I can't remain on a platform that pays people like Andrew Tate to post. I do this knowing it significant limits my reach in the academic community, but the standard you walk past is the one you accept.
