@archillect@high.cat Looks familiar, I have a collection of old computer parts too :)

@Spaghettimon

Sounds like a really good idea, may work for written papers but what about pictures / diagrams and charts ? I an sure there is a way round this.

I think this idea is worth exploring further as there is a desire to make science more accessible to people.l

I get that many people don't read scientific papers and I get why. This makes me question, is there a demand for "audio papers"? Like with audio books, then you can hear it while doing other things
they should make USB with screws like old VGA, DSUB or military connectors have

DuckDuckGo is building its own desktop #browser

"DuckDuckGo takes aim at Google Chrome but insists it isn't going to fork Google's Chromium project upon which Chrome, Edge and others are built on. [..] Instead of forking Chromium or anything else, we're building our desktop app around the OS-provided rendering engines (like on mobile), allowing us to strip away a lot of the unnecessary cruft and clutter that's accumulated over the years in major browsers"

Thanks for this, the BBC just wants to portray Russia as the aggressior rathwr than looking at the fact the Ukraine is split between those who want to put more distance between their country and Russia, the other 1/2 want to be closer.

Great work by the @libreoffice docs team, Math guide for LO 7.2 is published and just got Draw 7.2 to go.

Fantastic work :)

Is anyone from Russia or that region able to offer an objective view to this please?

Is Russia preparing to invade Ukraine? And other questions

Maybe a viewpoint from elsewhere will help make sense of what is actually going on.

@NEETzsche Recently I have had some very interesting and engaging conversations on Fedi, and yes, we are not afraid to touch on sensitive topics.

It could be down to who follows you and who you follow along with what you post.

It is not all bad, we are trying to build something, it takes time.

@argo Thanks for this, great picture and illustrates a point I have been making

I agree we should keep this in mind but just focus on building something better, which is what we can do, we can't change the nature of google.

Dr McCollum said she used to frequently travel via Embankment and loved hearing her husband's voice, even when he was alive.

"Since he died I would sit and wait for the next train until I heard his voice.

"On 1 November he wasn't there. I was just stunned when Oswald wasn't there anymore.

"We were very touched by her story, so staff tracked down the recording and not only were they able to get a copy of the announcement on CD for her to keep but are also working to restore the announcement at Embankment station."
