Even the mods can't deal with stuff now, as I understand it there are not man moderators left on Twitter.

elon: "we need to rewrite everything in this crazy stack."

guy: "what exactly is so 'crazy' about the twitter stack that necessitates a complete rewrite?"

elon: "goodbye. what a moron."

Scenario: A refugee enters the UK without papers {he had them, but were lost) and he’s denied asylum from war. His application is denied. He goes to America instead where he is accepted.

This is Sunak’s plan.

This actually happened in 1933. That man was Albert Einstein.

To me there are two groups of people who remain on Twitter, 1 group are there as they condone this sort of thing, or are just ignorant of what is going on.

The 2nd group remain so they can help report what is going on.

My hat goes off to the latter, I am starting to question the ethics / morals of the other group,

Tories don't want you to know this: April 5th is the deadline to apply for voter ID - or register for a postal vote by April 18th. Get the word out. #VoterID

Pull quote: The Community Library Network Alliance, independent of the library network, was officially formed in November 2022 by Emily Christopherson of Post Falls and Angela Drewien of Hayden. It is a grassroots movement effected by those who are passionate and concerned about local library goings-on and who believe a thriving public library system is necessary for a community to be vibrant and well-informed. Part of the group's mission is to ensure the integrity and success of the local libraries through qualified, library-minded and trustworthy library trustees.

This is why I love the commandline.

I had a zip of photos and it wouldn't open, said it's not a zip. I knew it was...but it let me open it with a document viewer and all the photos were there....but in like almost a PDF. So I knew there must be a way to get at them. the zip command fixed it with the -FF flag and...yeah. Got them all extracted.

@kentindell I am guessing PayPaltine is a play on words of Palpatine, at least with Palpatine if you messed up you would be killed with the force, you know where you stood with him.

What is more of a major concern is people see this sort of thing from Musk as acceptable behaviour and keep using twitter, and this CONDONING what is going on, the fact there are far right people on there, no moderators and apparently an explosion in CASM apparently not being dealt with, should raise serious red flags for those working with vulnerable groups, but what is going on is also being suppressed.

@mmasnick

To me this suggests that management just don't care about their employees or lack the skills to communicate with people in different levels within the company. By interacting you learn so much about people, good stuff and sometimes if they are having concerns or have issues outside of work. The latter can sometimes be helped, so moving to flexible working if worried about picking kids up from school for example.

It is about seeing people as human beings rather than a number on a employee list.

@ada

I will share and boost, but this is just very worrying. what exactly are people so afraid of to call for the eradication of Trans people.?

ooh, missed this:

eejournal.com/article/mips-rol

MIPS has now gone full RISC-V, which kind of makes sense, since RISC-V is 4 Berkeley iterations down from the original MIPS architecture. and they've clearly applied everything they learned modernising the MIPS architecture to their first RISC-V offering! exciting times... even if the poor old MIPS architecture is now orphaned (but it lives on, i guess, in Loongson - and in various textbooks... and in Microchip's oldest PIC32s)

One word for this Microsoft, they seem to be the GO TO for a lot of stuff, by passing the standards.

I have uploaded this to ephotozine but am also uploading here, container at Torquay Harbour.

if only we'd stuck with 36-bit computers, we wouldn't have a date problem until 3058, by which time we could reasonably assume that computers had become sentient, wiped us all out, and would have to fix their own damn date bugs
