Tombaugh made his discovery at Lowell Observatory.
It was Lowell who first hypothesized the existence of Pluto to explain irregularities in the orbit of Uranus that couldn't be explained by Neptunian perturbations. He searched for the planet from 1905 to 1914, but never found it.
Here's where the story gets a little weird!
Breaking: Biden approves controversial Willow oil drilling project in Alaska.
Environmentalists and some Alaskan Native communities had opposed the plan over climate, wildlife and food-shortage fears.

I have something like that, but there is no physical switch it is just two rj45s in to one. I have another one that is 2x usb to 1, which does have a switch, so would allow say 2 printers in to 1 computer.
I understand your point, I was thinking it is about striking a balance, but in favour of the community aspect of this.
If there is a one person sole trader, lets say they make / sell items made from wood, Having related discussions around woodwork etc, they can share pictures and maybe other media, we can ask questions and they should answer, so as long as they respect the community aspect, they could feel welcome here.
I think we do have science journals on here, we certainly have accounts where jobs and articles are posted etc, profiles should like to their websites.
In fact if I buy a product, why not post a picture, and link to their website, where i got it from with a commennt. Being able to tag people in, even better.

This is interesting, as I remember the Albania vs England football game a few years ago, several of the England black players, Saha, Rashford, where being targeted by racists.
Rather than the team getting angry and distracted, or just walking off, it seemed to give them some sort of extra strength to score more goals.
So the negative abuse resulted in a really positive result, it made the team stronger too.
The ongoing overhaul of the #LaTeX preview system in #Emacs #org-mode is really HUGE! And it comes with an entertaining video showing the new improvements:

A big thank you to the developers!
This seems like a fair move to me, system space is valuable, plus even though you are not collecting and storing that much data, you still do some of this, so if the user is not using the account, then in theory there is no need to keep hold of that data.
Do other instances have similar policies of data / user removal?

Another idea would be to allow us to choose a license for uploaded media (like we can on peertube) we can then set to cc-nc if nothing else, which would prohibit commercial use, however we retain full ownership so owners can still give someone permission for that if they want.
Meta would have to ask for permission, which I am sure would be refused,.
If we can set all this retrospective then that may really help too.
The co-founder of the #Vivaldi Web browsers claims that 'advertisers stole the internet from us' in this interview:
https://www.xda-developers.com/co-founder-vivaldi-interview-mwc-2023/
He also claims that 'Vivaldi blocks a lot of tracking and gets around advertisements in novel ways'.
What he forgets to mention is that Vivaldi makes an exception when blocking ads, allowing those from their partners. They also use a UI dark pattern to confuse users and keep this this setting enabled.
You don't need separate accounts to interact with different kinds of Fediverse servers.
For example, if you have a Mastodon account you can follow PeerTube accounts such as @theatticdwellers or @alliterative and their videos will appear in your Mastodon timeline as if they were Mastodon posts.
If you reply to a PeerTube video within Mastodon, the reply will also appear as a comment below that video on PeerTube. (And comments made on PeerTube will appear as replies on Mastodon.)
To counter this perhaps we can have a section in profiles where we can make it crystal clear that we do NOT consent to any data mining (or similar) from Meta or related entities, in any shape way or form.,
