Because it can happen here, again.
I don't think that we have another FDR in us.

A crowd gathered Wednesday evening to mark one year since our state's worst school shooting. Staff Writer @gusbova takes us to the vigil and looks at what changed, and what hasn't, since an 18-year-old opened fire at Robb Elementary School:

Where can i get a mastodon share button ?
Three keys to continuing to build this platform:
1. Encourage all media outlets to both join and toot here regularly. They're mostly still just feeding the birdsite.
2. Follow as many media outlets and journalists here as possible to show them there's a big, engaged audience.
3. Push media to add Mastodon "share" buttons to all of their articles.
@AFutureGhost@mastodon.social @petergleick
You have a good point here, could this be integrated in to @writefreely ? so that readers can see a button to share. Or as I can add a footer with code in, is there some code somewhere that will just take the post url and allow it to be posted here to fedi for example.
Fantastic work,
GDPR strengthens rights of individuals with regard to the protection of their data, and empowers people to fight data exploitation.
At PI, we’ve had a tonne of success using GDPR mechanisms to stand up to abuses of our privacy and data rights, by Big Tech, surveillance companies and governments alike. A lot of our work since has been guided by this legislation.

Liz truss will go down in history probably as an MP who served the shortest term as PM. But should also be remembered as the LAST PM to serve under Queen Elizabeth II and the first under King Charles III, as changes in Monarch are rare, then this is something that gives her a special place in history, that can't be taken away from her.
Can the UK labour party put in a bulk order so they can be given to the Tory party MPs?
I think there are several options/
1. Install Python on windows
2. Install GNU/Linux as dual boot, may make it easier to install python and modules
3. Use something like Trinket.io or Repl.it, both web based, and both have all the common modules installed and set up.
I am using Trinket.io at Code Club to help attendees learn Python. I am using this with UK primary age, so most of them are 9-11 years.
I think sometimes it is easier to learn on a system where things just work, then having to try and figure out how to install a module, which seems to add more complexity.
There are some really nice activities at
https://wwww.codeclub.org.uk - click projects, we are doing the More intro to python path.
I am happy to try and help via mastodon,
I think it is worth teaching GNU/Linux at some point, again lots of people who would be good to help with that.

I think the 60s were one of many turning points, up until then people seemed to conform to everything like sheep. Then the Vietnam war started and people started to protest and felt the power to do that. So people questioned authority.
I am not a historian, but I remember the 80s where there were no cameras in the house of commons, we just had a picture of the chamber and Maggie Thatcher and Neil Kinnock pretty much shouting at each other (or that is how a child year old saw things)
These days we just get live video footage of the rabble calling them selves politicians.
