Apparently there is now a shortage of Aluminium in the UK.

Problem is the UK has relied on imports for too long we have stopped making a lot of stuff in this country.

People left during the pandemic or were unable to come here due to travel restrictions, add to that Brexit and people are not coming here.

People here don't want those jobs as I think part the issue is low pay.

Unless the end consumer wants to pay more for everyday goods to cover the true cost of production the solutions are going to be harder to find.

People want better pay, conditions to work in,. Look at how Amazon have treated their workers for example.

Same issue you still need to get product from A to B, regardless of material.

There is seems to be a shortage of HGV,, Lorry , Truck drivers world wide, partly caused by the pandemic and people also leaving those jobs.

So in the case of glass you need the raw materials (or old materials for recycling) etc.

If it is like in the UK the issue is in the supply chain, getting products from where it is made to the shop.

So from farm to shops or production.

Well, not just beer but liquid in general, pint of milk for example. I would guess it means a product sold in pints.

@thor Here in the UK I do find that in hotter weather driving standards drop and people act as bigger idiots as normal.

I can understand black lives matter, but cancelling historical figures due to their slave trade involvement won't make what happened go away

As someone who is more into chemistry than biology then a chemists definition of cis & trans is rather different to that in a biology sense.

There sre cis / trans molecules it determines the location of for example a chlorine atom on a hydrocarbon chain.

This has happened to university professors in the Uk.

I think this professor may have said only men have a penis or something. like that, it just incurred the wrath of some of the students.

The facts keep changing when a lot of people where children there was male and femae genders

now there are all different genders, in some ways that has been the case for 1000s of years perhaps we as a society did not recognise or acknowledge that.

I can see how autistic people may feel lied to, so yes you have a valid point

This is not a good or valid reason to cancel someone, which is what people are now terrified of.

@thor Yes I kinda feel now that what ever we do , say o is wrong in the eyes of someone so we are damned if we do something or say something but equally damned if we don;t.

If the media can put a picture of a muscular topless male in theie newspaper it is seen as fine, but a topless women with big breasts is seen as sexual, (as is the first picture) but no one says much about the first.

No wonder people get confused, which is why conversations like this are so important.
