@waytoocutexox Fwiw, I agree with you. Buying a bra for someone without boobs is like buying shoes for someone without feet 🤷‍♂️

@hybridhavoc @mentallyalex I sometimes wonder what life would be like if I had one save file I could load from or save to any time. More than one and I'd be an instant god, but with just one, you'd have to really think about when it's time to overwrite...

@waytoocutexox I think it's fair to say that your chest is not the part of your body you'll be wishing had more support.

@dangoodin All the more reason to celebrate when organizations like NPR and The Trevor Project reject it.

So many people are freaked out about the idea of , but the reality is that the AI will probably have more latitude to deviate from the script than the humans ever did.

@johnabs @Paulos_the_fog Agree with all of that. But I would add that I think a big incentive for modern mass shooters that we need to eliminate is getting their name and picture on the national news. We've built a culture around worshiping fame and celebrity and we've guaranteed that killing a bunch of folks will earn the shooter that infamous celebrity status. What did we expect to happen?

@RunRichRun It's just more speech 🤷‍♂️

If a private business chooses not to feature a pro-X artist because of their pro-X stance, then that business is advertising to its customers that it is anti-X.

Then those customers can choose to exercise in some free speech of their own, by either supporting the business and its decision, or by boycotting it for its decision.

All the while, other businesses will be watching, and this discourse will influence their future decisions on the matter.

All of this is just another cog in the free marketplace of ideas.

@RunRichRun Yeah, but "not giving someone your platform" is not the same as "censoring" them.

That this gallery chose not to feature his work does not prevent other galleries from doing so, nor does it stop him from self-publishing.

Moreover, if choosing not to feature his work is "censorship", then every gallery is censoring millions of obscure artists every day.

We need to draw a distinction between our right to speak and our entitlement to use others' bullhorns to amplify our speech.

@RunRichRun Wait, somebody choosing not to buy or display my art is "soft violence" now?

Good to know.

@Paulos_the_fog We let people who do that rot in jail. That doesn't seem so "little" to me.

@CJPaloma I wonder what would happen if somebody snuck up at night and replaced them with Qurans...

@waytoocutexox If this is just to stay in private between you and your friend, I think you're doomed to the bear ones.

But if you open the vote to the internet and promise to share the results.... they'll probably vote for giving you a single strand of yarn to wear. (But, like, masculine yarn?)

@waytoocutexox Does the internet get to see the winning choice in action? Because that factor could help you swing the vote from something purely embarrassing (like the bear) to something more flattering (though probably still very skimpy).

I will never understand that sue for-profit companies for not parenting their kids for them.

That includes companies.

@emilygorcenski I'm imagining the black and white pictures of police beating civil rights protesters in the 60s... except covered in rainbow glitter this time.
