@gmcgath If that works, I'm filing so many lawsuits against so many politicians.

I’d rather have a conversation with an informed person I disagree with than an uninformed person that I agree with.

This principle has brought me more growth than almost anything else.

Our opponents are not necessarily our enemies, and they might be our greatest teachers.

@komaramusic Yeah, I'm far more concerned with the light and signal pollution they produce than getting hit by one.

@heidilifeldman Ah, maybe that's the reason... an at-a-glance way for editors/printers to determine if it's a revision or final?

@heidilifeldman What is up with the "t"s in the font in that document? Really distracting.

@lampsofgold If any hammers or LLMs start exploding, I'll be right there with you demanding a recall.

@lampsofgold No, I'm suggesting they're both tools that can be used for benefit *or* harm.

We shouldn't blame the tool or its maker for the idiots who use said tool to cause harm, whether it's a hammer or an LLM.

@lampsofgold @verge It's not killing people; hackers are using it to enhance their attacks. If I wanted to hurt someone, I could use a hammer to enhance my attacks over my fists, but that doesn't mean we should get rid of hammers.

@thehill How is that their decision? Wouldn't that need to be a Texas state legislature bill?

Also, why only that subnet?

Is somehow retaliation against Abbott for defying feds?

@ThinkingSapien True, but in this case it had nothing to do with technology. Just a local business straight-up lying on a snail-mail ad.

Just fell victim to a fraudulent advertisement. At least I was skeptical enough from the start to not actually lose any money or personal info, though.

Reporting it to the FTC made me feel a little better.

@jann According to his profile, he worked in the mozilla.social division, so yes, the mastodon division that got axed.

@jann ...not if you can't afford them anymore.

This isn't a publicly-traded company trying to maximize short-term gains for stockholders. It has to make sure it can continue to do what it does with the little it has.

More importantly, none of the layoffs affected the Firefox team. It was all VPN and 3D Hubs and mastodon staff that they axed, which is probably a good thing, so they can refocus on the browser.

@brad_frost The people in my environment make fun of those who print emails for being old, so yes, I will do that.
