@w7voa He's paying you to repeat this advertising for him, right?
@chrishudsonjr Just watched it and... yeah, right there with you.

@threatresearch Have you considered using decentralized distribution? You could use any service to host torrent magnet links for your colleagues and then essentially self-host the actual data. That way you also ensure that nobody without the magnet link is accidentally getting dangerous files.
@mentallyalex @Eamon1916 I mean, I'm a gun owner myself, and I'd be the first to say that the NRA is insane and that laws in certain deep red states are downright irresponsible (not even close to common sense).
But everything you've advocated so far actually does sound like common sense, and I think a majority of gun owners in this country would agree.
@mentallyalex @Eamon1916 I don't know the full policy, but I do specifically remember my local police department advertising limited-time no-questions-asked buybacks on social media.
@Eamon1916 @mentallyalex Most police departments (from my understanding) do have a week or two each year that they accept any gun surrenders with zero questions asked, but I think they do typically sell the ones they can to add to their budget, so you might as well just sell them to get the money yourself.
@mentallyalex Yeah, I certainly wouldn't be opposed to that proposition.
Another good proposal I've heard is allowing post offices to handle the background checks for private sales. So that way you could place an ad for sale, then you meet up with the person at the post office, who runs a background check on them before you sell it to them with a clean conscience (and no legal liability).
But, in a world where we pay private companies to do our taxes for us, selling guns to FFL holders doesn't seem altogether that egregious to me.
@Eamon1916 @mentallyalex Then go to home depot and buy a $3 bag of cement. Pour it into the barrel and that gun is out of commission for good. Then you can throw it in the trash like any other item.
@mentallyalex Is that really so strange, though? I give clothes I don't want to Goodwill. I sell jewelry I don't want to pawn shops. I pay auto shops to take care of used motor oil I don't want. Heck, there are even entire for-profit corps built around waste-management.
While I agree that it would be nice to have a universal gov-run buyback program, being instructed to sell it to someone who's licensed to deal with it safely does seem to be a fairly reasonable solution to the problem.
@philip_cardella Don't worry. Doctors and lawyers will keep them afloat.
I'm pretty sure @ZachWeinersmith wrote this one about me specifically 😂
@andrewvandam So maybe it'll be relatively functional in 5-7 years...
@georgetakei What's the context for this? Anyone have a link?
