'Although mouse and human MAIT cell transcriptomes showed similarities for immature cells in the thymus, they diverged more strikingly in the periphery. Analysis of pet store mice demonstrated decreased lung MAIT17 cells in these so-called “dirty” mice, indicative of an environmental influence on MAIT cell subsets and function.'

"In total, bitcoin consumed nearly 1,600 billion litres of water in 2021.The 2023 figure could be more than 2,200 billion litres of water.

The main reason Bitcoin uses so much water is because it relies on an enormous amount of computing power, which in turn needs huge amounts of electricity.

Bitcoin is so power hungry it uses only marginally less electricity than the entire country of Poland."

"The F.D.A. has approved six commercial CAR-T products. Cancer specialists said the treatments have saved the lives of thousands of patients with blood cancers. Even if there is a causal link between the treatments and a small risk of a new blood cancer, the regulators said on Tuesday, the benefits of the treatment outweigh the risks. That sentiment was echoed by doctors involved in cancer treatment."

“I think we should understand our policy — that however unpleasant they act, this government is better for us than Allende was,” Kissinger said to his deputies, according to declassified transcripts, in the weeks after the coup. A few years later, in 1976, Kissinger would tell Pinochet, “My evaluation is that you are a victim of all left-wing groups around the world and that your greatest sin was that you overthrew a government which was going Communist.”
