All you good guys have your days numbered... here's why---->

If this judgement is measured by how less diverse you are as one of the key measurement then you can see this add to the lack of growth or spread between humans.

So all people that are it mono-orientated, not connecting humanly or which ever other way you can accept calling yourself (call it trapped in the Matrix also or self-sacrificing family financial-based stuff... all with a tinge of my sympathies)... just terming your own work-flow for it's lack of diversity or even randomness with people in simply what reduced it's spread / reach / organic mult-level people thing. Just locked in people which is exactly what jobs do well without every achieving the social sides and usually what's not in your industrial-designed contract.

To do random with randoms or reach out to do unlikely with unlikely people, try audiences I guess it involves you to trust yourself, others, explore strangeness and even see offending efforts as potential... yadadada.... AND it's far less measurable (so why bother doing what isn't measurable or people orientated?)
So 'my way' is not 100% (even though I don't mean that and just means more multi-level talking).... and anyway 100% doesn't exist in reality and just a STEM mentality of only measuring in some ways not others
(my 2nd measured judgement here is the perception more often by STEM people and almost ADDICTION is that near 100% is achievable or even worth going for when it just apportions a few things but not many others especially the social or human side).
For the German style of efficiency or even 'solution', which can be regardless of the way things are done, this can be a sort of all-or-nothing approach or in-tolerance to human parts, which is not limited to German's but many can relate with since consistently many factors and roots are related to that region (not all bad perhaps but overdone in the modern sense I would say if not doing the human caring just as much)

England vs. Ethiopia
(Banning things vs Planting things)

Yeah I believe this over-simplified comparison of efforts.

The West's way of thinking rings true even without comparison to anyone else's efforts.

general rant about everything

@bonifartius good stuff overall, maybe 'greenwash' is a bit of term touched on there.. or even not really and just what is painted 'green' and says it's green is what we the people are $uckers for.

Increase your work flow / output by having a menu of things.....

Increase your work flow / output by having a menu of things to increment or do as mass work, especially IF you feel like it. (I guess that;s important and not everyone has this choice).

A lot of my mini-projects are about hitting the right mood and when rotated constantly (or even when you have things you 100% don't want to do) then you can increase your work flow / output and get around to the things you don't want a lot faster as you are also rotating your mood and letting things bug you but not letting go un-reminded for years.

STEM on the BigTech scale I think is tangibly questionable... BigTech / BigIndustry / Government vs Hobby extension which is from that...

STEM on the BigTech scale I think is tangibly questionable... because it is also political, but perhaps on the hobby scale or individual politics it's a bit better and doesn't seem political (once it's already been done by the government your in or all government together to allow it)... but overall that still needs BigTech to start it for hobbyists otherwise they couldn't even enter the hobbyist stage (perhaps with RadioShack offering electronic diodes and components on the high street).

It it would be different if Hobby-level was possible without BigTech (BigIndustry I mean probably) and we would need to stop ourselves turning into the next BigTech company which is ironic as it would be really tempting to do EXACTLY the same, even with best of intentions, to 'scale-up' which in my book is on par with fuck-up because you can't scale-up without doing this damage or needing to choose this way over that. And so here we are somewhat! and such things from start similar to PROJECT going back to ground up stuff seems to adjust and re-align EVERYTHING... :)

I think it's easy to say one doesn't like something because not every is knowing 100% what it is or perhaps the sub-categories are ok like 'hobby'-tech being ok or much less harmful

Also I considered "demographer Michael S. Teitelbaum criticized the efforts of the U.S. government.... since World War II to increase the number of scientists and engineers, all of which he stated ultimately ended up in "mass layoffs, hiring freezes, and funding cuts"; including one driven by the Space Race of the late 1950s and 1960s, which he wrote led to "a bust of serious magnitude in the 1970s." and probably is the same now unless you are in a similar space race, AI thing, algorithm master for the dark side (airline tickets), or anything else that just gets money.

I dunno how do you see this BigIndustry vs. Hobby thing (isn't it the same just Hobby a small branch of until they make serious money like from graphics cards?)

WHOSE FAULT IS IT? A survey (s.wsj.net/public/resources/doc) funded by the Wall Street Journal in June finds that while 85% of Ukrainian respondents find Russia responsible for the WAR in Ukraine, more than two thirds ALSO BLAME their own government.

@lucifargundam When there is demand, supply is surely filled :)

Although I have to find some other meaningful thing now to draw.
And maybe I should write 'draw' :)

Either way it saves data and doesn't look too bad either!

(maybe you the reader can tell me what you think, what does the title + ASCII mean to you?)

The "before you change and realise what's happening" drawing...

For those of you that can't read ASCII or think it's poor I will also draw this one up

Anyone involved in GNU Project?
I like that "Although most of the GNU Project's output is technical in nature, it was launched as a social, ethical, and political initiative."

My comment:
The above is really big and where STEM / Science, Tech, Engineering, Maths seems to do not-so-well is political intention and even seems to avoid thinking about how it can be used it for evil or re-packages... so the consideration of the "why?" overall etc and how to make sure of these things I think is a big oversight (like not giving a manual how to use something or why)....

So I was impressed **not only** by technical achievement of GNU Linux but the going towards: "social, ethical, and political initiative." which I think EVERYTHING can do.

And what doesn't do politics IS EVIL UNDERCOVER
muhahahaha.... I mean... it's deliberately 'non-political' STEM so the meta hierarchy / government can collect these tools and use it in more hidden ways or just for patenting in a money race, rat race, arms race or whatever just not giving away / solving humanity road map...

Do you think it works to have an account and use commercial things like Facebook in order to get your Free Software / Freedom movement going in a way you would like to spread it?

That was useful thanks!
Was thinking it might be more conclusive or definitive but I'll re-read it and have a look at links... (haven't yet)

SFC's use of Twitter.

Karellen, I feel you could have made your point with less sarcasm, but raising the question that SFC organizationally uses Twitter is a reasonable thing to ask about. But, I would encourage in future that you perhaps frame your inquiry with some like “I do feel it as somewhat hypocritical that SFC has called for folks to give up GitHub, but they aren't calling for folks to give up Twitter — and in fact SFC is using Twitter actively!” That would be a respectful way to ask your inquiry.

Speaking as the person at SFC who's primary job (as Policy Fellow) is to analyze and consider and recommend policy of how we approach these proprietary software situations, I'll note that we now live in a difficult and complex world where it has become increasingly difficult (at least in industrialized countries) to engage with communities and pursue the normal functions of life without interacting with proprietary software. Personally (outside of my work at SFC), I refuse to use Twitter also. It was a difficult decision for SFC to continue using Twitter (which, BTW, I prefer to call Agrawaland — and I used to call Dorseyville (and I guess I'll be calling Musktown soon?) — all to note that Twitter is not a democratic platform, it is a for-profit company's property under the autocratic control of its CEO).

My colleague Karen Sandler and I gave two keynotes (at FOSDEM 2019 and 2020, respectively) about the challenges FOSS activists face in choosing when to use or refuse to use proprietary software. These are hard issues to decide. In fact, we internally talked quite a bit while planning the Give Up GitHub campaign to determine if GitHub had crossed enough lines that they are substantially worse in their behavior than other proprietary software companies. We believe they are, which is why we launched the campaign, but we understand that you may have a different opinion.

Meanwhile, I'll put it on the agenda for future blog posts that I should write explaining how SFC came to the decision to keep participating in Agrawaland — particularly after they previous regime (Dorsey's) cut off the federation features abruptly (which lead to identi.ca's demise). Thanks so much for your inquiry and this will make a useful blog post. I can't promise a timeline for it as we have a lot of writing in the pipeline, but I will look into it!

@vriska
About 15-30mins from cold and casually IF preparing something that needs onions properly done
OTHERWISE stick it all in with everything else after an initial heat up

@veit
I wanted to say without being too tangential (it is but relative I believe) that it is relative also to think everything is already in the wrong hands... like almost 'day 1' kind of thing meaning government... so I am upping the category of wrong hands and going to the meta level or that what we're looking at is already the wrong mentality and wrong hands since government is to exploit the people and get them to pay for their will (not the will of the people)... so hope that's ok to say and don't discount this category of data collection etc... but feel like something need to be done from the nest rather than next scandal or whatever growing from old wartime type mentality warring on people... wondering if you have any thoughts on that and respecting that it wasn't directly what you wrong about... so maybe more for me interesting... thanks

Without even looking and assuming somewhat it's nothing unheard of, I

@users To anyone thinking one by one doesn't work
+1 or +2 accounts a day on QOTO... slowly it adds up...

Now imagine my progress or yours dedicated in this sort of way of opening account with each other (talking) - my idea is something similar to that where we just need one or two conversations per day... to keep everything going and important exploring... so we're not too tech/science-heavy or in mono-mode all the time...

BY DESIGN it's not found in a job...

BY DESIGN it's not found in a job...

The specification and contracts ARE NOT sharing or openness or proper internal communication.

It would change the whole power structure if it did. So that is OUR TASK (non-paid job) to bring freedom back slowly like creating a free operating system with volunteers over time.

But you guys are probably shitting your pants to talk if you're not paid or not triggered by something...
