Todas lo hacen. A partir de cierto tamaño, la censura, el shadow banning y similares acaban abriéndose paso. Por el mismo motivo por el que hay leyes y cárceles: porque no tenemos alternativa.
Y además todos colaboramos con ello. ¿Para qué tenemos botones de bloquear, silenciar y reportar si no?

Aunque aún uso Sublime Text para manipulaciones complicadas de texto, Visual Studio Code, claro. Gratuito, libre, muy fácil de usar, se instala en un suspiro, lo que no viene de fábrica lo tienes instalándote alguna extensión (y sea la que sea, te lleva un minuto), siempre es el primero o casi al que dan soporte en cualquier cosa nueva que salga...
Para cosas que están muy vinculadas a un IDE concreto no, claro. Pero para las que tienes libertad, especialmente si es web, ni me lo planteo.
Los 4 que planteas, los he probado, pero no he aguantado ni un día con ninguno.

Mine has wifi for Wikipedia and a real web browser, but browser and e-ink is not a good match. It's useful for quick searchs only. It has Pocket support, which works really nice for reading long web articles.

I have a Kobo, and it is great. You don't even need any software; you can copy files directly as you would do on a USB drive. EPUB support is really great. For PDFs you better get a big screen; panning on e-ink devices is unbearable. Calibre is not required, but it helps if you have
a big library.
