Okay, let's do the math on that.

If Texas secedes:
•Texas loses $68.2B in Federal aid
•GOP loses 2 US Senate seats, Dems lose 0
•GOP loses 27 US House seats, Dems lose 11
•Dems win permanent control of US House, US Senate, & White House

MAGAs never think these things through, do they? They don't care about the Constitution or national unity—only uninhibited power.

Can #Biden seize control of the #Texas #NationalGuard?

Let's take a look of the powers granted by the #Constitution.

Biden's authority would come from Article 3, Section 2:
"The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States;"

So where does this -call to service- come from?

All that authority rests with #Congress. This is from Article 1 Section 8:
"To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;"

The power to -call to service- rests with Congress. Once Congress has done so, #POTUS takes over as the Commander-In-Chief.

Be cautious with people advocating otherwise. They're either ignorant, and spreading #misinformation. Or they are malicious and attempting to #gaslight you with #disinformation.

-2,083,000 registered voters in Iowa
-718,000 registered Republicans
-102,000 voted
-53,219 voted for Trump
-7.4% of possible GOP votes went to Trump

Although its disappointing that 53K Iowans voted for him, I wouldn't use this as a statement about the general election.
