@Sundae_Gurl

YET, today's NYTimes Business section leads her public redemption/rehab tour:

Headline: "Liz Holmes Wants You to Forget About Elizabeth"

😏

@lorq @Sundae_Gurl

Elizabeth Holmes: living the good life post-conviction

These guys, not convicted of anything:

@lorq @Sundae_Gurl Funny how a black man on his way to Rikers without a trial doesn't get to pull all this shit. Why do we claim justice is blind? It's certainly not blind to wealth.

@Sundae_Gurl Mummy, the eyes are wrong, and they're following me! Make the eyes stop!

@obviousdwest @morgfair

It could be argued that it also invalidated the study, in that it introduced variable, uncontrolled exposure willy-nilly to the subjects, rendering subsequent observations meaningless. So unethical *and* just plain bad science.

@i0null If there was no additional energy input after the initial push, I'm honestly more impressed with the low friction pivots. That took a long time to settle down.

@freepeoplesfreepress Well, it's right there on their website. They're pretty excited about it too.

Hurrah! For the first time, we caught the hatching of one of Cornell's red-tailed hawks, live as it happened. The first of the year. Replay here:

i hope everyone realizes that there is a not-yet-broken tradition of beheading every odd-numbered King Charles.

"and with the ceremonial Whirling of the Plates successfully completed, Charles is now King of England"

This is big. No #embargoes. No #APCs.

"The #EU is ready to agree that immediate #OpenAccess to papers reporting publicly funded research should become the norm, w/o authors having to pay fees & that the bloc should support #nonprofit scholarly publishing models.

In a move that could send shockwaves through commercial scholarly #publishing, the positions are due to be adopted by the Council of the EU member state governments later this month."

@Sundae_Gurl Yep, and at that time we were both countries whose head of state had a large private income from government properties. But it was only constitutional in one of them.

If the Carolinginoids or whatever they're called wanted for some reason to piss of Scotland even more, they could have, when the UK national anthem was sung during the Coronation, included this gentle verse which was once (briefly) part of it:

Lord, grant that Marshal Wade
May by thy mighty aid
Victory bring;
May he sedition hush,
and like a torrent rush
Rebellious Scots to crush!
God save the King!

... Possibly the only national anthem ever to actually call for members of one of its constituent nations to be crushed.

@Sundae_Gurl It was around the same time (and also signed into law by Eisenhower) that "under God" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance.

The coronation of Prince Charles is a charming royal tradition, like the letter the Queen sends out when someone turns 100 or the text girls receive from Prince Andrew when they turn 14.

A lot of these "crypto giants" are really tiny once you decrypt them. I suspect they stand on a box during the encryption process.

It wasn't long ago when I'd see an idea so rote that I'd say "I could have written a perl script to come up with that one".

But we're really there, now. Unskilled people can simply ask a cloud app to quite literally have an idea for them, and it'll come up with a trite variant of something that always works. And it'll work.

We are so fucked. And it's our own fault for being so easily and predictably amused. Have fun sucking up algorithmically digested pap for the rest of your life.

@AnnemarieBridy Well, I followed up and read their about page about it and just, well...
