I mean, this didn't start now... It started in 2014

@arjen
We're also not really solving the problem at all, rather making it worse.
Russia will win this war regardless of the sanctions.
We're pushing Russia more and more towards China, this will eventually create a division between western and eastern countries.
Thus creating a new cold war with democracies against autocracies.
Going in this direction doesn't look like a victory to me.
It is now day three of war. I have more or less relized the scale and the consequences of the events and worked out the rough plan of my actions. It's going to take a lot of work, but I'll get through this. There are a few complications.
1) Russia can't buy chemicals from USA anymore. It makes it more difficult to do work as stuff that is made here is not great and what China sells is often quite shite.
2) Germany seized all the scientific projects with Russia, and there were plenty. I think the rest of Europe will follow along soon. And there are few facilities in Russia, most resources spent in the last years were aimed at getting access to foreign ones. Mainly, you guessed it, German.
3) If I happen to drop out of University, I get mobilized and sent to war. Which is not exactly what I aspire to do with my life. Killing humans is not on my to-do list and, I hope, never will be.
4) No CPUs and other components for the next 5+ years, probably. It's a good thing I use linux and pretty much any computer will work. My i3-8xxx should last me a few more years before giving up and by that time I hope to get the hell away.
Correction to n.4: China will import their computers, huawei and xiaomi and maybe others. I may upgrade to these. but who says China will keep getting their CPUs?..
@kreyren
I don't understand what you mean: they know who their enemiy is. Ukrainians are clearly outnumbered and outgunned.
They weren't even able to retake the Donbas region from rebels, when the frontline was much smaller.
Attacking for them would mean a sure defeat, as they would weaken the defence line.
Letting the enemy through means there's no defense line anymore and they're acting from within enemy lines, where they would have no supplies and would quickly get mopped up.
This doesn't look like a war that will last long, thus setting up a resistance behind enemy lines would probably achieve nothing.
@kreyren
Because they have to prevent the enemy from advancing; they don't have to destroy the enemy.
They're clearly unable to destroy the enemy.
Russia now will try to encircle as much of the Ukrainian army as possible, probably take Kiev, the pieces of land it's interested in and the conclude the war.
If the Ukrainian army were to let the Russians through, with small sabotage in mind they would get nothing in return.
By the time the sabotage becomes problematic, the rest of Ukraine will be taken already.
@kreyren
Oh, sorry I thought it was the one you linked to.
At this point the war is prepared already, probably won't last very long.
I'm unsure deleting your code would accomplish anything, I doubt Russia entered this war unprepared.
If it can be turned into a drone, and you don't have problems with it being used like that, then you might show how this can be done to some Ukrainian that would be able to.
@fsf
@kreyren
You make it way too easy: there's a reason why people from the same army wear a uniform... Not to kill each other.
Moreover, this is not a war that can be won through small sabotage, at least not at the beginning.
@kreyren
UN is very corrupt, it's not a great news.
Met a lot of people working there, most of them despise what goes on.
@kreyren
Was it censored? The full message is there and a conversation started from it.
I disagree with you.
I'm all for finding a way to solve the situation in Ukraine, but I don't see this leading to any good.
While I am in favour of Ukraine, it's not certain that people that developed free software are.
Would it be right to limit the access to code to a Russian guy who wrote it?
Moreover if this is allowed, then the fsf would become a weapon, that's used by certain governments against their enemies.
There's no real reason the fsf should limit the access to the code for Russians rather than Ukrainians: it just depends on your opinion of the situation.
Right now there are several wars going on and you would have to decide which ones are right and which ones are wrong.
It may be possible to discuss whether to introduce something in the license which would prevent that code from being used for weapons or military stuff.
That said, I'm not part of the fsf, I'm just expressing my opinion on this.

@sda
Can you link the articles please?
@welshpixie
I've been using a glass bottle for at least 10 years.
I wash it maybe a couple times a year.
Never had any smell coming from it.
I guess maybe it's something in your water, or the gasket of the bottle

@GustavinoBevilacqua

Thanks, I found the link to the original article, however Russia today appears to be inaccessible or censored.

Wow, figata pazzesca!
@mirkokrim
