During the French Academy of Sciences elections, she was vilified by the right-wing press as a foreigner and atheist. Her daughter later remarked on the French press's hypocrisy in portraying Curie as an unworthy foreigner when she was nominated for a French honour, but portraying her as a French heroine when she received foreign honours such as her Nobel Prizes. via @wikipedia

NAZI TOWN, USA | In the 1930s, Summer camps opened up across the country. But these weren't normal summer camps: they were the creation of the German American Bund, a pro-Nazi organization with a vision of America ruled by white Christians| youtube.com/watch?v=Cbp_nXMLon

@blakpantherbabe Just what we don't need. More cops.

But police are like any other organization. As time passes they lose the focus on their original purpose and become entirely focused on self-perpetuation.

@randahl Where is this law and order problem, pray tell? With the exception of auto theft, crime is the lowest it's been in decades.

@carnage4life Yup, I got bit by that too. So I went to the IRS web site which recommended several free tax prep services that were actually free.

@lauren Glad to see I'm not alone. Yes, entertaining, smart, well-educated in his field, and I suspect that many of the points he made went right over the heads of his audience. Whoosh.

@tokensane @LLRogue @georgetakei It's always good to read the comments before posting. Saved me from saying what you already said. Lol.

@DebR @LiveByReason @mentallyalex @GottaLaff He wouldn't know how. He needs people to take care of him, cook for him, etc. Always has. He's never bought anything in a market. @uspolitics Warren Buffett has said for many years that it's ridiculous and wrong that his tax rate is lower than his secretary's.

@peterdutoit Thanks to natural gas fracking, gas production here in West Virginia has increased from 4 trillion to 10 trillion cubic feet per year over the past 15 years. It's expected to continue increasing to 14 trillion.

Ron DeSantis should be forced to carry his dead campaign to term.

To the extent that search engines know which content is created by generative AI, they should offer a search parameter to users that excludes all known AI-generated content in search results. Where possible, a sticky "never show me AI-generated content" option should also be available.

@lauren It's actually really starting to be noticeable now. I have been running into entire sites which are AI-regurgitated versions of real sites (for SEO purposes, with a bazillion low quality ads). And we're only in the early days of AI-generated web cruft.

They could also let you know how many results were excluded: E.g.:

10 results found.
43,403,101 useless AI-generated results excluded
