@zastrow For some the damage is even deeper, going beyond Twitter. Some people will see that any centralized monolithic social platform that can be taken over by an investor is a potential problem.

@lauren Oh boy. Good effing luck. But that's why they have a pro like you and not an easily tongue-tied one like me doing the show. Lol.

If I had to do it, I'd give it a lot of thought and make notes. There's way too much craziness to cram into three minutes.

@lauren It's so far over the top that I'm glad I don't have to describe it to someone. I wouldn't know where to start.

It's been one of those "you had to be there" kind of things.

Sending wishes for a very happy Chanukah to all who celebrate. May your days be filled with light. Chanukah Sameach!

Mastodon has cracked the top ten social networking apps in the App Store. For context, Signal is at 15.

@ClaraListensprechen@universeodon.com @cnalletamby I'm on a powerful instance (real servers) and a big pipe to the Internet, but I have seen one glitch tonight so far. A "resource not available" error, which immediately cleared.

@black_intellect Yes. I've said this for 30 years and gotten much laughter in response. I can't prove my hypothesis, of course, but my engineering intuition has long said "there's more going on here than simple electrochemical signals between neurons."

We shall see, hopefully in my lifetime. (I'm old.)

@godpod It figures he would wait until many of those who dislike him have left the platform and aren't voting.

Continued scans from the Middlesex Hospital, New Jersey, USA series that I have found amongst the family photos. This is 1926. Nurses lounge. It looks like the series were a posed photoshoot of the hospital. One of the nurses in this photo is my husband's grandmother who worked as a nurse in NE Tribal India for decades.

@PadreSJ I'm not going back. But I'm a nobody. Lol. Those who have figured out how to turn their Twitter account into a cash-cow will go back or never leave in the first place.

@karlauerbach Yeah, the two main aerobatic planes in the US are the Pitts and the Stearman.

Hello mastodon. When I type mastodon my autocorrect suggests masturbate. We’re going to get along just fine.

@hackernews@die-partei.social Well, even I, a staunch EV enthusiast, think it's too early to pursue an EV-only strategy. Demand for ICE vehicles isn't going to disappear overnight. And there are plenty of places in the world where EV's are impractical until changes are made and infrastructure built.

@karlauerbach Hahaha. All in good fun. If you're going to really wring it out up there, the plane has to be built for it.

@april Yeah, it can get real rough. Bear in mind that hailstones grow by being blown up and down in a t-storm. Down, picks up moisture, up to the freezing cold, back down to pick up another layer of moisture, and so on. Imagine the wind it takes to blow a baseball-sized hailstone upwards.

I once suffered some costly damage to the plane by flying close to but outside of a t-storm. I didn't realize that t-storms sometimes throw hail out sideways into clear air. They do.

@ClaraListensprechen@universeodon.com @cnalletamby Yes, well, engineers are full of amusing expressions like that.
