@mori @auschwitzmuseum Yes. Luck or lack of it plays a much, much bigger part in life than we like to admit.
@tusk81 Yes, it's a very Christian thing to do at Christmastime.

@paul_briley Yes, I knew there was a causal connection between heart attacks and long-Covid. What I was wondering is if all/any of the public figures in the news over the past month had Covid in the past.
When you think about it, @Gargron is right about not including a #quotetoot feature. A quoted toot/tweet breaks away from the original thread, changing the conversation in favor of your own take on the post.
I think a good practice, that respects the context of the OG post, is to boost (and fav if you like), then reply to the post, or to another comment in the thread, to keep the conversation going organically.
Has anyone noticed the rash of sudden heart attack deaths among 35 to 45 year-olds? I wonder if there's a connection with long Covid but I have no way to know if any of them had Covid in the past.

@psf Yeah, at 1920 bytes per second, it's going to be real slow. 100 kbytes takes about a minute.
@freemo Yeah, it's true. I don't agree fully with the meme. It's the last three lines I was going for but that's not apparent when I post the whole meme.
#DOStodon confirmed working on 486DX/100 and 40MB RAM !!!
Krampus have mercy, it is SO slow. Each jpg takes about 45 seconds. Unsure if the bottleneck is the CPU or the 19.2k connection it's sucking the bits through...
@psf It's the 19.2 connection. Lol.
40 MB of RAM is a lot and the CPU more than capable with jpegs.
@cnalletamby Once you know how it works it's not a problem and I rather like it.
@Tbsa @jayinkyiv In my case they are beautifully machined devices made for me by a friend in Ukraine.Fine craftsmanship is alive and well in Ukraine.
After the report about the Girl Scout mom getting booted from Radio City Music Hall, I spent the last two days reporting out the use of facial recognition technology by the Madison Square Garden empire to keep hundreds of lawyers that work for firms that have sued it from attending concerts, sporting events and shows. It is a radical use of the technology by a private company and I am truly shocked by how forthright MSG is about its real-world block list. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/22/nyregion/madison-square-garden-facial-recognition.html
