It’s amazing what you notice sometimes. Walking along the river in Taipei and I see a guy stringing something to the top of a lamp post and tree. I think “could be portable ham radio” and then dismiss it, mainly because I don’t/didn’t think there was all that much HF activity in Taiwan. Walk on. Then along my way back my curiosity got the better of me, and it turns out yes it is, I don’t speak good Mandarin and he doesn’t speak good English but we had a brief in-person QSO! #hamradio #hamr

Killing County - Bakersfield, California - Kevin McCarthy's district, home to the deadliest law enforcement per capita. Docuseries/Hulu.
A new multi-part documentary coming to Hulu on February 3 called Killing County includes first-person interviews with Bakersfield and Kern County individuals and families plagued by gun violence, officer-involved homicides and other crimes. #politics #documentary #BLM #ColinKaepernick #Bakersfield

@democrasee Police departments have been intentionally hiring people like this for decades.
@SexyCyborg Interesting. Thanks for posting.
It seems that another workaround would be to never forward files (I don't.) I never send or receive files except an occasional photo and never forward.
@adapalmer I had one of those a few months ago. First time in my life, I think, I scratched everything off the "today" list. It was weird.
@michaelcole@aus.social @rbreich I'm sure he sleeps fine. Remember why Zuckerberg created The Facebook, while he was in college: so he could see photos of girls and avoid dating ugly ones.
This is who he is.
@rvaughnmd Hmm. So pedestrians should carry RPGs to fend off vehicles?

@JonChevreau Bizarre Russian response to #Germany; it amounts to "Hitler had his time in the sun...now it's our turn".
@SonofaGeorge @JonChevreau Yeah, no. Russia had its time in the sun around 1850. I'm surprised they've forgotten.

Hey everybody, will you please boost this and help my friend @hauntedhideaway find her #librarian peeps on here? 📚
She lost her beloved #Twitter community of fellow #librarians and would like to build a new group here. Help a gal out!
Thanks in advance!!
@ai6yr Wow. I'm glad I left that ecosystem a long time ago.

Which social media platform do you use the most?
Please reblog for larger sample.
@TruthSandwich@toad.social Oh, and I didn't stop at notifications. I clicked over to your timeline and scrolled down until I found this thread. Still a (1).
@TruthSandwich@toad.social Not that it should matter, but earlier I was at work and using the Masto app. Now I'm home and using the qoto web interface. Still a (1).
Long ago I was on Friendica because it federates with both Diaspora and Masto. Friendica had an edit function. But when I learned that only my Friendica contacts saw the edits and people on Diapora and Masto did not, I stopped using the edit function.
Here on Masto and over on Diaspora I just assume it's not supported. I no longer use Friendica.
@TruthSandwich@toad.social Now 2 hours. Refreshed and still a 1.
@TruthSandwich@toad.social looks like it's been at least an hour since your parentheses post. I just refreshed notifications and it displays the one in parentheses.
@TruthSandwich@toad.social I thought it was disabled on all federated platforms because the edits don't propagate through to all instances. It's the same on diaspora. It was enabled when I was on friendica but the only people who saw my changes were others on friendica.
@uanews Great news, partly for the Abrams and partly because it releases the Leopards. If the Russians continue to field more tanks, they'll find themselves in much worse trouble than before. Both the M1 and Leopard are capable of precision fire at long range while in motion. And if the French send some LeClercs, Russians tankers will be in even deeper trouble. The LeClerc is wicked fast at engaging multiple targets with automated precision fire and a six second reload time. Designate the targets to the computer and it does the rest.
