Some things simply have a degree of sensitivity that they need to be done in a manner that's beyond reproach.
The crazy partisans won't care, but the moderates in this country will.

@inthehands Bingo. Google tried to do that with email, and instead they just raised the bar for all webmail clients. No reason Meta's entry into the fediverse can't do the same.

@erictopol That sounds like a nightmare. Not only is it blatantly the wrong tool for the job, but it seems incredibly likely that it would reinforce biases in diagnoses.

@cyrilpedia What a load of shit. Racists have been using "science" to justify their bigotry forever (heard of phrenology?). Scientists' job is to perform experiments, analyze the data, and present it without spin. It's our responsibility to contextualize this new information for society, and to push back against those that would use it for nefarious purposes.
