@Av8rdan @WiredForFlight Now I'm trying to figure out how that's even possible to do from the taxiway on the ground with no appreciable wind... Taking a turn way too fast and tight maybe?

@Av8rdan @WiredForFlight Interesting... I assumed from the picture that it was a crosswind gust that put it in the ditch... Would also be interested to find out the details.

Does anyone else have different belt notches for "empty pants" vs "pants loaded with phone and keys"?

@jann It was a hospital spokesman, and this is hardly the first such story.

@jann They designated a zone as safe, then in the past 24 hours, shot a missile into it, killing mostly children.

How many unarmed children, in your opinion, is one allowed to slaughter before it stops being "self-defense"?

@jann Odd response to someone having the integrity to resign in protest of genocide.

@mentallyalex I mean, part of that is likely driven by the fact that TV app UI/UX is some of the most underdeveloped crap on the market.

Consider that I can intuitively navigate a complex 3D space while actively shooting and defending on a 14-button playstation controller, but my TV remote has 45 buttons and I've only ever used about 5 of them.

@Adam_Cadmon1 Wait, I always thought everyone treated "The Old West" the same way we treat Westeros or Gotham: Clearly inspired by the real world, but truly fictional in their depiction.

@kegill How would you even be seeing them? Unless you follow them or someone you follow boosts them? And if it's the latter, just turn off boosts for that person.

@interfluidity So you want a journalistic Wikipedia?

I tried to build something like that a while ago (highly-connected variation of SubStack's model with a writer-driven recommendation algo), but ultimately was discouraged because I don't have the requisite VCs/millions to fund marketing to get it off the ground.

@thomasfuchs Like any tool, it can be misapplied, sure. But there are lots of valid use cases where ML-algos are already improving life and making it easier to save lives.

Commander Dave Scott of Apollo 15 validates Galileo's theory on the Moon by dropping a hammer and a feather, proving that objects fall at the same speed, independent of their mass.

Rufo: I believe Black people in places of influence have their places illegitimately
Media:

Rufo: I'll smear Harvard's president
Media:

Rufo: I'll target her specifically because she is Black
Media:

Rufo: The media will help me; they have no guard against such manipulation
Media:

Rufo: Hey media here's the smear
Media: 700 STORIES A DAY ABOUT THIS FOR SOME UNKNOWABLE REASON

Rufo: haha one down, more to come
Media: congrats stranger; would you like an op-ed?
Rufo: sure, I'll use it to brag

@jerrylevine By document generation, you don't mean contracts, right? You guys aren't having LLMs write legal documents, right?

Yet again Rufo spills the entire plot like he's got Bond suspended over a pool full of sharks — and somehow it doesn't occur to anyone to think "hey, maybe we shouldn't listen to this manipulative opportunist any more."
