Do you use a niche #browser? Or you just stick with a mainstream one?
I personally use qutebrowser, and have Firefox as a fallback in case I break something.

P.D: A boost for reaching more people is really appreciated :3

It is not the people abusing me in messages that actually hurt me. It is the incompetent people in power.

I argue with the people that call me "retard" because i so desperately want to talk sense into those that steer our societies into obliteration, but i am mistaken. It is not the people sitting in front of their screens as desperate as i am that i want to convince. They probably think the same as i do, with different mental models for common interests.

Oh well, maybe i can do better another time. Last actually controversive argument i ended amicable, but without any clarification, next we will see.

This sounds like a threat, doesn't it?

Nice, a stand for free speech. Some pretty trusted people among the signatories.

Kinda NSFW comic link

@jeffcliff I saw this comic and it reminded me of your comment of how your feed looks like - you need the cumwagon!

@freemo I don't think it will make a difference in the real world, but i do appreciate you making an effort to push back hateful narratives.

It's not immigrants who are making your life harder.

It's not poor people.

It's not minorities.

It's not LGBT people.

All that other stuff is just to distract you from noticing the actual problem.

Kuez, lasst euch keinen Dreck strategischer Wahllosigkeit vom "kleineren Übel" einreden. Es gibt andere Parteien.

the fucked up thing with the pundits and armchair commentators on the latest bloodshed is, you have one group saying something 100% reasonable ("atrocities are bad"), and you have another group saying "no atrocities are actually good, do more atrocities! boycott the anti-atrocity haters!" and its exhausting

"This time it's all of us or none"

With people all around posting "I stand with", I've been conspicuously absent from social media this week, struggling very deeply with how it's possible to stand with anyone or anything on such shaky ground, how it's possible to respond in any way to such atrocities.

At the risk of making something so huge about me (but isn't that how we humans process things?), as a left-wing Jew, I have never in my life felt so alienated from both my identity communities.

People I love and respect calling for or apologising for genocide and war crimes. It doesn't matter who by or who upon. It is horrifying. How have we come to this? How can we get past it?

And I know this trauma is nothing compared to those under the bombs or in front of the guns. But I cannot stop shaking. There's no steady ground. How can you stand? Let alone stand with?

One thing I want to clearly observe is that it feels like the very idea of nonviolence is taking a horrific battering, as people rush to one side or another, concluding that wiping the other off the face of the Earth is the only solution.

[more to follow]

Since i always have been out of ideas, i am issuing this bulletin:

*Now in: hate not productive*

Thank you all, and please abuse me in the comments. Good night.

@freemo *poke* The doomsday commentary before was nice. Do it again!
(To explain: not much up, and with current events being apocalyptic in the very bad sense that they distract from an upcoming climate catastrophe, unsettling)

Hi there!

@freemo
I am guessing you deleted yout toot because of too much trouble with people hungry for blood, not a differentiated view?

Responding in private:
> Sure, but considering for 100 years Israel has effectively done the same by crowding them into small ghettos, cut off their water and electricity, and let them fester in their own feces in their own land... Every day for a palestinian is another act of terror from Israel... where was the call to action then, where were the people sending tanks to palestine? We sent all the tanks to Israel, and none to palestine,l a terrorist country committing genocide, now all of a sudden we should be acting to enable Israel? Thats very contradictory

I think you took aim and then narrowly missed it.
The question is not what happened before, but what is there now.
As you rightly said: "neither has the right to continue commiting war crimes simply because the other side commited some".
This means for me that defending against hamas is right, but only against hamas. So they are amongst innocent civilians, using them as shields. There is no excuse for not doing everything possible to stop them with as few civilian casualties as possible, just as they have lost every claim of a right to their actions when they accepted innocent civilian casualties.

Whether we are Jews or Muslims, progressives or conservatives, nobody should ever celebrate massacres or make excuses for terrorism.

As we continue to check in on family and friends, I mourn every traumatized person. My heart breaks for Israeli & Palestinian civilians.

#Peace

My take on "bothsidism":

I see two major sides, leaders that want violence and civilians that become victims of that violence.

I said major sides, since the real world is more complex, some civilians actively protest against violent leaders, while others elect them. There is mandatory military service in many places, which further complicates things. So the "sides" are a generalization, and to be precise, one would have to look deeper.

I take the side of the victims, against the violent leaders. Any leader that accepts innocent civilian deaths as acceptable to win is on the wrong side.

So, if you think about accusing anyone of bothsidism, check if you identified the sides correctly, please.
