@ai6yr I agree, it doesn't look like 17%. Looks like half that at most. But that's still plenty of hill for a bicycle.
@yurnidiot I'll be fine. The country is what I worry about. There are millions of people like this and they will all be around long after Trump is gone, primed, ready, looking for a new cult figure to latch onto.
@Free_Press Yes, the word "lumbering" no longer applies to modern battle tanks.
"Don't worry, the tanks are two miles away. We'll be long gone by the time they get here..."
@yurnidiot Self-control and patience. Just smile and say little. The whole state of West Virginia is like this. People have their roofs painted "TRUMP", have their trucks painted, fly Confederate flags, etc. It's like a religion so you just have to tolerate it just like tolerating religion. You can't speak against it or risk consequences. Nor is there any point to trying. Objective facts and logic have no part in this so there's no possibility of changing someone's mind.
However, it is interesting to observe how easy it is to convert a population into a cult that will readily die for you. The whole Jim Jones thing finally makes sense.

@yurnidiot Oh jeez. Now I'll have to listen to all the Trumpers I work with ranting about this nonsense. They believe everything he says, no matter how ridiculous, and are willing to defend it with violence if need be.
@ai6yr The fact that this happened in this country, at all, is very disturbing. It should be a red flag. We've gone off the rails already.
@karlauerbach Oops. Yeah. Not surprised. Such behavior isn't normal. Anyone who would do such a thing probably has lots of other problems that will eventually surface. I hope his date took the hint.
@noondlyt He won't be charging me a nickel. I closed my account after 14 years on the platform formerly known as Twitter.

@karlauerbach Good grief. Haha. The disturbing thing is that such people walk among us every day.
Ask your Fox-watching friends if they’ve seen stories about Rep. Lauren Boebert publicly groping with her date and vaping at a public performance of Beetlejuice, all with kids present. Bet they’ll look at you blankly because Fox has simply not aired the story since it broke according to media watchers.
Fox knows Boebert is in a district she nearly lost in 2022, and that the road to the House majority might run through Colorado’s 3rd. The network isn’t “fair and balanced.” That’s a joke. Fox is warped and twisted, just like the party it services.
Pro-tip: change the content controls on home cable systems so technologically challenged folks can’t access Fox. You might just save them from being sucked in further.

@br00t4c Hah. No. What saved Paxton was the utter corruption of the Texas Legislature. Now, everyone should be able to see it clearly.
@karlauerbach I remember Lawry's up on restaurant row, La Cienega. Good food. My favorite up there was the Lobster Barrel. Great food and lots of fun.
