"Iran did not supply Russia with drones and missiles for use in Ukraine," — Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
"Ukraine has not provided Iran with any evidence that Russia is using Iranian weapons during the special operation," he added.

@lightrider @arstechnica Fascists, actually. They want the government to help them lock in customers.
Cable firms to FTC: We shouldn’t have to let users cancel service with a click
Customers may "misunderstand the consequences of canceling," cable lobby says.
When do lawyers plan to stand up for the profession they have chosen?
The law profession is an absolute disgrace!!!
Cannon should be disbarred
SCOTUS Thomas should be disbarred, & arrested and charged with accepting bribes.
Gorsuch, Kavanaugh & Coney Barrett need to all be disbarred for the perjury they committed when they lied to the senate under OATH about Roe.
Remember this?
"Roe v Wade is settled law".
Perjury, plain & simple!!!
"Thousands of people across Germany have taken to the streets for a fourth consecutive day to voice their opposition to the far-right populist AfD party after politicians from the party met neo-Nazis to discuss a “master plan” for the mass deportation of asylum seekers and German citizens of foreign origin." #Germany #fascism #racism #rightWingExtremism
I wrote an article in IEEE Spectrum about the history of the magnetic amplifier. Magnetic amplifiers were popular in the 1950s, even used as logic elements in computers, but became mostly obsolete as transistors improved.

@kenshirriff Yeah, I first learned about mag amps in the 1970s. I thought it was a really cool idea. In the 1990s I repaired a couple of old industrial grade battery chargers for large banks of lead acid batteries on a ship. They used a bipolar power transistor to control the mag amp that handled the big power. Pretty neat. They worked. I patted myself on the back for knowing what I was looking at. Hah.
@Npars01 @Sustainable2050 @coalfreedave I'd love to sit down with Xi and have a long talk about such things. I mean, if I were China's leader I believe I would be focusing on exactly that -- freeing myself from dependence on foreign anything. Trade yes, dependence no.
A Quebec man who posted conspiracy theories online that forest fires were being deliberately set by the government to trick people into believing in #ClimateChange has pleaded guilty to starting 14 fires himself that forced hundreds of people from their homes.
@JamesGleick Not loyal to the oligarchs but sticking with their belief. They all feel the U.S. government is corrupt and illegitimate, and needs to be overthrown. They don't feel any remorse or guilt because they believe their charges and sentences came from an illegitimate system and court. They don't recognize any of it as valid. So they will come out of prison not chastised or wiser, but more determined.
This will be a problem for the future.
@gerrymcgovern In the U.S. the biggest threat is domestic cats. They kill billions of birds every year. I keep my cats indoors. I wish other people would.
It sends the media narrative that Republicans adore being ruled by corporate shills, evangelical bigots, and the publicly corrupt.

You know what would be nice?
An "open firmware" project, where people produce and share FOSS firmware for common household devices, replacing the manufacturer's firmware with a decrapified version.
A smart TV? Reflash it with FOSS firmware, which removes tracking, calls to the manufacturer's servers, and any Internet-connected services that you don't want?
A printer? It's now yours. No ink subscription, or need for an app to print remotely.
And so on.
A man can dream, eh.
@lyda @absolutspacegrl Agreed. Although some utility companies are lobbying (bribing) their legislators to levy taxes on solar panels.
@cerebrate Hence the "fabric of spacetime".
@lowqualityfacts "Is it really necessary for you to take pictures of us?"
"A wildly successful, illegal 3-day strike by the Andover Education Association in November has reverberated statewide for educators in Massachusetts.
The lowest-paid instructional assistants got a 60 percent wage jump immediately. Classroom aides on the higher end of the scale got a 37 percent increase.
Members won paid family medical leave, an extra personal day, fewer staff meetings, and the extension of lunch and recess times for elementary students." #Labor
