Please do check out our poster on explicit references of values in folk tales where we compare the values (Schwartz) in 3 corpora from three European countries. We evidence how between Germany, Portugal and Italy there are common traditions (emphasis on the values of Universalism, Tradition,...), but also cultural peculiarities, e.g. different ways to convey such values

@arnicas am I the only one that thinks that the right-hand side is much more information-intensive (look at the findings part for example)? Of course this comment comes after I know the right answer of the original question and after having had more time to examine the texts

Let me share the takeaway from Richard McElreath's keynote (at least for me)

Just found out there's the tag here. For a second day I miss the morning sessions, but what I managed to catch has been really inspiring, lots of food for thought. If you didn't know about it, check out 2023.computational-humanities-

@corl3ss @torproject ok, then the weird thing is that the address starts meaningful :)

Extremely happy to announce that @kissane and I have been funded by @DigInfFund to run a project called Fediverse Governance Successes & Gaps!

We will look at the people, software, and processes of the Fediverse, and make strong recommendations for how open source projects, philanthropic funders, civil society organizations, and others can co-create a Fediverse that is safer and better for humanity than the social media we've been stuck with for decades.

@voxel @torproject thank you. Your response helped me look up a bit more information regarding further doubts I had

@torproject can anyone help me understand why the .onion address needs to be so human-unfriendly and not simply amnesty.onion?

@hexxy_the_grouch @Tutanota but to enable all ads on a website, I'd need to temporarily whitelist all domains where the ads potentially come from. And this will not be in the context of the website at all. I'm not trying to downplay how useful it is. I just think it's for a different use case

@TechJournalist looking forward how AI-generated code is going to be validated

@Daojoan is the last one a genuine question or a statement? :) Because I could maybe make an argument against it, if it mattered at all

@hexxy_the_grouch @Tutanota I haven't used PiHole, so I'm curious: how difficult is it to enable ads for a particular website or on a one-off basis? Thanks!

@rticks @Tutanota do you consider iphone to be any better? Or you have yet another alternative in mind?

Google's war on ad-blockers continues! Google will slow down the update process for third-party extensions by requiring them to be reviewed by the Chrome Web Store. 🚫

This means YouTube can counter ad-blockers while slowing their release of workarounds. 🤢

This David and Goliath situation looks to be even more unbalanced than previously thought.

#AlGore has had enough of #COP28: "This industry is way more effective at capturing politicians than they are at capturing emissions," Gore told Reuters on the sidelines of the COP28 summit in Dubai. "And they have captured the COP process itself now and overreached, abusing the public's trust by naming the CEO of one of the largest and least responsible oil companies in the world as head of the COP." commondreams.org/news/al-gore-
